ShineOnCass Blue Christmas Ceremony: Sunday Dec. 21, 4 pm
Oakland Waterfront Park, Oakland ME
The ShineOnCass Foundation will host its 5th Annual Blue Christmas Ceremony for grieving families and friends, and those who support them, Sunday, Dec. 21, at sunset, starting at 4 pm, on the Winter Solstice—the longest and darkest night of the year. Blue Christmas will feature music, speakers, and a reading of submitted names of loved ones’ lost and the lighting of memorial blue candles.

We're bringing new opportunities in youth mentoring to our community! Learn about our new collaborative mentoring program ShineOnCLASS at Oakland Schools, matching Williams Elementary School 4th graders with Atwood Primary School's 2nd grade students! Kindness for Cass Bracelets
As a Kindergartener at Mount Merici, Cassidy made friendship bracelets for the people she loved. One of the recipients of her kindness was her treasured 6th grade "Big Buddy" Kaitlin. After carrying that special bracelet with their names on it for some 30 years, Kaitlin Marrache (now living in Florida!) wants to honor Cassidy by making them for others and spreading Cassidy's Kindness. ShineOnCass is sharing Kindness for Cass bracelets at events. When you receive one, you can share how you Shine on our online form. Email us at shineoncass.org if you'd like one!

Eleven years ago, we could never have imagined the light that would continue to grow out of our darkest night. And yet, year after year, people show up. They give. They love. They remember. They SHINE. Because of them, Cassidy’s light continues to reach farther than we ever dreamed — bringing kindness, joy, and opportunity to so many.
We are grateful for every sponsor, donor, volunteer, and friend who made this night possible, raising nearly $45,000 for the ShineOnCass Mission. Learn more about our most incredible A Night to Shine!

ShineOn Oakland Day, July 26, was a sun and fun-filled day at Oakfest Maine 2025!
The weekend kicked off Friday night with ShineOnCass leading as Parade Marshal! What an honor!
Then all day Saturday, kids of all ages enjoyed free books at the ShineOnCass Literacy Booth.

The biggest and brightest Kick for Cass! A record 22 high school boys and girls teams, Cassidy's CMU and Messo Alumni reunited, a spectacular Memorial Ceremony for Cass, and so much Light!

Not even rain could dampen Cassidy's Light at the ShineOnCass Animal Baby Shower on May 4th at Hart-to-Hart Farm & Education Center! Thank you to all who came out to welcome the newborn babies, and donate a truckload of food and pet items in Cassidy's memory to Humane Society Waterville Area.
